About the role:

We’re looking for an experienced IT Security Analyst to join our IT Security Team to help Pretty Little Thing expand and develop further. Working in collaboration with senior IT specialists and technicians from across the business, you will suggest, implement and operate controls to maintain and protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and information systems.

The IT Security Analyst has the following main duties:

  • Operate and monitor a system for information security management including policies, standards, principles and controls including management practices and technical security measures.
  • Communicate, educate and enforce compliance with information security policies and standards across the business.
  • Monitor the operation of security controls and propose, define and operate new or revised controls in order to keep the impact and occurrence of information security incidents within the business’s risk appetite levels.
  • Manage IT security governance processes and approve IT projects for compliance with security policies, standards and principles.
  • Act as ambassador promoting information security and information assurance across all parts of the business.
  • Maintain and develop the business’s Asset Registers (information, software and hardware).
  • Handle day to day security incidents and escalate when appropriate.
  • Any other duties as may be required from time to time in the support of IT Services.

About you

The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a role that includes a large element of information security as developer, architect, auditor, security officer, advisor or similar.

You will also need to have:

  • Good underlying technical knowledge and experience in computing, data communications and related technologies as evidenced by technical or professional qualifications and work experience.
  • Good communication skills, a good writer and confident presenter with experience in raising, discussing and resolving information security risks with technical and non-technical customers.
  • Previous experience of PCI Data Security Standard, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials or similar information security standard.
  • Good knowledge of privacy and freedom of information laws and regulations such as the Data Protection Act, GDPR, Privacy Shield and Freedom of Information Act.

Nice to have’s:

  • Previous experience in a full-time information security role.
  • A recognised professional information security qualification or certification such as CISM, CISSP, ISO27001, CPI Data Security Standard or similar.
  • Degree or similar postgraduate qualification in Information or Cyber Security or Information Assurance.
  • Experience in using a governance or service management framework or standard such as COBIT or ITIL.
  • Background in audit or IT management or governance.
