Due to our continuing growth, we are now looking for an experienced Compliance Assistant to join our passionate, agile and creative team in Manchester.

 

The Role

 

To work within the Compliance & Technical team, supporting and developing our international supply base in ensuring that they meet all PLT’s requirements for both Ethical & Product compliance.

To work in conjunction with the Compliance Manager ensuring that all key stakeholders are engaged in working together to ensure that the supply base is supporting business growth.

Working closely with team members and the Buying and Merchandising departments within the business.

 

Tasks, duties & responsibilities:

 

  • Working with suppliers to support and maintain compliance with PLT ethical trading policy, ensuring that the business targets are met.
  • Product Compliance: Ensuring all products meet REACH & PROP 65 Testing standards across all categories.
  • Arranging third part due-diligence testing & carrying out in-house product safety tests.
  • Supporting the buying teams in driving product performance & any care-labelling queries.
  • Assisting new suppliers through the onboarding process, ensuring that all expectations are achieved. Providing key support to our supply base.
  • A key Stakeholder in managing the Supplier Manual & online supplier portal.
  • Manage and maintains communications between suppliers and relevant departments in the company.
  • Evaluate, analyse & monitor suppliers; this will include capacity, lead-times and performance.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to create mutually profitable working relationships.
  • Produces reports and activity logs as required by management - daily, weekly or monthly.
  • Support both operations and suppliers in the management & improvement of non-conforming stock in the warehouse.
  • Responsible for updating, amending and maintaining all departmental excel reports.
  • Data entry and general administrative duties including maintaining department filing system.
  • Work to deadlines within department where required.
  • Where necessary visit UK supply base with managers

 

As a Compliance Coordinator you should be highly motivated, with technical flair, excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude.

 

The perfect candidate will have

  • Experience in working with suppliers both UK & international.
  • A good knowledge of fabric
  • Experience in product/fabric testing & global testing legislation.
  • A proven record of managing supplier performance & building key relationships.
  • A good understanding of packaging & deliveries
  • Confident in excel & reporting.
  • Multi- Product experience is preferred.
