 We’re looking for a talented Imports & Bookings Manager to manage the Bookings team at Pretty Little Thing. With at least 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management you’ll keep a tight grip on managing intake from suppliers both local and abroad while focusing on growing and developing our FOB Import business. Our ideal candidate will relish the opportunity to help drive the growth our FOB import business, sourcing new vendors, forwarders and shipment options to drive cost benefits and improve flexibility and lead times.

With your keen eye for attention and excellent problem-solving skills, you will oversee daily operations, manage stock intake with our Merchandising, buying and Logistics team, developing processes to enhance efficiency.

Reporting into the Merchandising Manager and Head of Merchandising you will also have the exciting opportunity to manage, grow and develop a team of four.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of strategy for FOB import growth that generates cost and lead time benefits for the company
  • Continuously monitor and review current sourcing options and shipping companies on a regular basis. Negotiate with freight forwarders (sea & air) for most competitive import rates, terms and excellent service level.
  • Manage FOB payments with the Merchandising, Buying & Accounts teams, ensuring that payments are authorised in a timely manner
  • Maintain records for accounting purposes in accordance with company procedures, including the checking of all invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to Tariff and Customs regulations. Ensure audit trail is 100% clear and ready for HMRC inspections
  • Chasing of PO’s to ensure delivery dates are met
  • Reviews processes and suggests improvements to the Head of Merchandising and Merchandise Manager
  • Works closely with our BI, IT & Merchandising teams to develop reporting and tool improvements
  • Supports the Head of Merchandising & Merchandise Manager with necessary data to enable informed decisions upon request
  • Direct management of the bookings team – ensuring stock sent for bookings is booked for delivery in a timely manner for local and international suppliers, ensure intake targets by day and week are not exceeded, Organising work schedules for the team.

Responsible for recruitment, training and managing performance of the team

Essential Skills

  • Experience in supply chain techniques including contract negotiation, supplier management, forwarder selection and supplier & forwarder performance management
  • High standard of planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and team members to deliver on wide & varied simultaneous deadlines
  • High standard of communication skills to enable effective liaising with other areas of the business including Merchandising, Logistics, Finance, Warehouse & Directors
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks, problems and issues, and delegate where appropriate to ensure they are resolved to the benefit of the business
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of the market, competitive landscape to make well-informed decisions and enable contribution to the company strategy.
  • High standard of negotiation skills in order to influence suppliers & other parts of the business to deliver positive outcomes within their own and wider areas.
  • Decisive and able to make the correct decision under pressure.
